Taos Ski Valley's terrain runs from gentle learning areas to steep expert lines. We match each renter's setup to their age, size, ability, and plans, whether that's a first lesson or a morning on the ridges.
Save 10% when you reserve.
No reservation deposit. Damage insurance included. Pickup from 2 PM
Choose dates and equipment, then add each renter. Online reservations save 10% with no deposit, and they're how you secure equipment over Christmas and spring break.
Every renter visits in person, kids included. We size boots first, then set up skis or a board and adjust bindings to that person.
Staying in the valley? Take your equipment to your lodging the afternoon before, at no extra rental-day cost. Holiday-week pickup often opens earlier, so call for times.
Drop equipment off by closing time, or by 10 AM the next morning, with no added day's charge. Damage insurance is included in every package.
All ski rentals include skis, boots, and poles.
All rentals include a board, bindings, and boots.
Kid and junior packages are the same ski and snowboard setups sized down. Anyone 13 and over books the adult package. We size in the shop rather than from a chart, because a child who fit a boot last February often doesn't now.
In-store service only
Renting for the whole winter? Ski, snowboard, and boot sizes can be exchanged at any point in the season, so a child who grows by February can size up.
Not included: helmets, jackets, or pants.
All ski rentals include skis, boots, and poles.

Longtime Taos skiers may know this shop as Alpine Xtreme. We're an independent, family-owned company that has rented skis and snowboards in New Mexico, since 2018.
Driving up from Taos? The village sits at the end of NM-150, about 18 miles north of town. Check current conditions before you go.

Bootfitting is available in the shop, so you can have your own boots assessed while you're here.
Bluebird Mountain Sports has been profiled as a featured shop by the gear-review publication Blister.
The mountain runs from 8,600’ at the base to 10,677’ at the summit, with an intermediate-heavy trail spread that suits families and mixed-ability groups. Angel Fire is roughly two hours from Santa Fe, three from Albuquerque, and 23 miles from Taos. Nearly everyone drives in, so check road conditions before you set out, especially if snow is in the forecast. If you arrive the day before you ski, come by after you've checked in: evening pickup is the best thing you can do to save time on your first morning.
