Good for: Gear that needs a flat, clean base, sharper edges, and fresh wax, but does not require deeper base repair.

Good for: Junior racers, Town Series racers, and carving ski enthusiasts who demand the most from their equipment and want the best result from a tune. This is an even more complete refresh that brings the edges back to factory spec (or to customer preference), the base structure back to its fastest glide, and a wax treatment that includes base prep and a temperature-specific final coat, followed by a multi-brush sequence that returns the base to its finest conditioning.

We use high quality, two-tone epoxy when repairing core shots. Preventing moisture from reaching the core of your skis/board will increase the lifespan of your gear and give you a nice, smooth ride.
Estimates will be given before work is completed.

Bluebird is a full-service shop and can handle many types of repair work, including mounting most bindings. Telemark, cross-country, or specialty binding services may require specific personnel, so call your preferred shop before dropping off your gear.
Bring your skis or snowboard to your nearest Bluebird Mountain Sports location, and our team will review the condition of your gear before they begin work. We will explain what we see, recommend the service that fits your gear, and provide estimates before completing case-by-case repairs.
Most services are ready by 5 p.m. the day after you drop off your equipment. Some repairs take longer, including edge repair or replacement, epoxy work, base patches, and core shot repair, which may require 2-3 days.
Service availability and turnaround may depend on your location, our service volume, and the repair complexity. Contact your local Bluebird shop with time-sensitive repair questions or specialty service needs.
For ski binding mounts, remounts, and function tests, please bring your ski boots with your skis and bindings. Your boots are needed for proper setup, adjustment, and inspection.
How to know when your skis or snowboard need tuning
Bring your gear in, and we will help you decide. We believe good service starts with looking at the actual condition of your skis or board, asking how you ride, and recommending what fits your needs.
If your bases look dry, white, or chalky, or if your skis or board feel sticky on snow, a wax may be enough to restore glide and help your gear move more smoothly.
If your edges feel dull, rusty, burred, or unreliable on hardpack, edge sharpening can help restore grip, control, and smoother turn initiation.
If your gear needs base grinding, edge work, de-rusting, detuning, and wax, the Basic Tune is the right starting point.
If your skis or board need base repair in addition to grinding, edge work, and wax, the Full Tune offers your gear more complete service.
If you see gouges, exposed material, edge damage, or possible core shots, bring your gear in for an assessment before the damage gets worse.
We take time to understand your gear, your ability level, and the kind of mountain experience you want. Sometimes the right answer is a full tune. Sometimes it is a quick wax or edge work. We will help you choose the service that makes sense.
